Uploading the footage

22nd January 10

Following the complication with the computer breaking down, we have moved to another monitor and uploaded Amy’s footage although the footage that Ash and I had filmed. This causes a complication because we had some very good and useful footage of tracking shots and general shots to establish a location but to also show it in a different perspective. The usual shots of London show the glamour of the city whereas we were showing it from an almost stalker/mysterious way.

There were shots on the trains, which was a reference to the 7/7 although we cannot use them now as we had trouble to convert them to avi firstly. We had filmed with a HD camera and the format wouldn’t work and the inconvenience to fix the problem brought with it decision to do all filming on the school cameras. I am very disappointed that we’ve lost the footage as I was pleased with the footage we had the more importantly, the shots that I took. There was a shot in the station of turning around in a circle to show people walking into the camera’s frame and give an obscure view to represent disruption. Although this footage in my opinion was good, we are unable to use it. I am very disappointed, but we have all of Amy’s footage which gives us a basis to work from.

Overall, we have 10 minutes of footage is all filmed in the dark which leads us to possible problems. For a trailer it needs to have several scenes and locations so we would have problems with working out the following: the time span of the movie, the basic storyline, and how to link it all.

Ashvina and I had filmed with Othamane to act for us  a few weeks ago, and it was filmed in the light and compared to Amy’s darker footage and snappier edit our work didn’t quite match up to hers. However we had one shot of Othmane putting the constructed bomb into the box which Ash and I personally like, but it is probably useless as the lighting is different. However, we came to the conclusion that we could have two bombs being made [Our footage, and Amy’s footage] to show how its not just one bomber, but several. I like this idea, though we’re yet to hear feedback on the suggestion.

We need to do more footage that involves Ash and I, but besides this we have enough to work from I believe and when we speak with Amy about the basic structure of the trailer so her filming is dominant she had an idea of what kind of movie she wanted when filming. I feel fairly confident that we can construct something good.
