A little off topic.
But I’ve been thinking a lot recently.
As Amy is seemingly more advanced and talented with the camera and filming, I began to think upon my personal strengths to figure out where and how I can input my views into the production, and creation of the project.
After many late nights [5am mostly] working on photoshop to learn how to:
- install/use an action
- install/use a brush
- create a manipulated picture
- create a background
- create a bloody effect
- edit for a specific purpose
I have come up with my own personal portfolio of work.
I have a Deviantart account now which I use to share my beloved photoshopped images with fellow photoshoppers and fans of the artists I use. I’ve found the blood effect to be useful for what I am to use for my poster when we have the trailer done and finished and hopefully Amy can get us more good footage and if not, then I can attempt to gain footage worth using Ash.
It appears that each of us have strengths and whilst Amy’s are the most useful for the actual filming, I can try and incorporate my personal strength and love of photoediting into the project in a useful manner.
The artists/people I edit are a Korean Band BIG BANG. Below are the pictures I have edited to give a visual presentation that although my participation in the filming is small, I am putting in a lot of outside work. We all have to play to our strengths and Amy has hers, and Ashvina and I can work on ours indivudually. I sincerely hope that I have a chance to practice editing for the poster, if not I will be thoroughly disappointed.

This I think reflects a beginning for what I would like to do for my poster. I can use the blood effect to edit with colour[saturation, shadow, exposure] and create something macabre, yet interesting. Also G-Dragon is one of my favourite artists.

This is Kahi from After School, and with this I used an action to darken, saturate and edit exposure. I like how this effect came out and as Kahi is my favoruite girl from AS, I found her a pleasure to manipulate. How is this useful to the poster? I now know how to effectively use editing, colour, brushes and actions to reach a certain aim.

This is the first background I created of my favourite member of BIG BANG, T.O.P/Real name: Choi Seung Hyun. It was simple to take three pictures from the same photoshoot used of TY above. I played with positioning by first having the the main photoshop to the right, and the one to the left in the center but I had to resize the central picture to be larger and played with the opacity to find a midway point at 30%. I am personally pleased with it, although this may not necessarily be useful to the project I have learned over the course of four days the basics and I’ve started to learn advanced steps to photo enhance.

The artists may not be known, nor English, but I am putting in a lot of hours [and late nights!] into this project to fill the void we’re missing. The practical filming side Amy has exceeded to bring back excellent footage time after time. I can see where Ashvina and I had gone wrong, but in my opinion I believe that we can aid Amy if she allows us and she has her spotlight to grow in confidence and the editing stage awaits us.
I personally feel proud of my achievement from forgetting everything from the basics to simple layering to learning these new things. If nothing else and this is not useful to use whatsoever, I feel that I can possibly give the group that support for the poster stage and my experience of photoshop however short(yet dedicated) can come in useful.
